One thing I hate is leaking fork seals. It causes the forks to function below par,
increases wear by holding grit and dust on the stanchions and looks pretty poor.
I have never found original equipment to be up to the job, but Enduro seals do the
trick nicely and are available direct from the USA.
If you are anything like me you’ll generally want to ride your own bike when doing
serious stuff. If, however, it’s not possible to get it here, then the friendly people
at Bothy Bikes near Aviemore will be happy to kit you out.
If you need it in a hurry and can’t pick it up locally or at the right price then
the mail order service and range available from these guys is right up there.
I wasn’t sure about putting this category in at all, as I am a great believer in
getting out and learning it on the bike. There are loads of “read or watch how to
do it” sites available via Google, but I feel this one gives sound advice and a good
idea of what you should be aiming for when it comes to having fun on the mountains.
Never forget that there is no substitute for practice.
